ConnectShip Toolkit Prerequisites

Product Installation Requirements		Notes
Operating System (32 or 64-bit)	Windows XP Professional (SP2 or later) -or- Windows Server 2003 -or- Windows Vista -or- Windows Server 2008 -or- Windows 7 -or- Windows Server 2008 R2	The latest service packs and security fixes are recommended for all of the operating systems.
	NTFS file system	Proper operation on FAT or FAT32 is not guaranteed.
Software Requirements	Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 or later	The recommended method for installing the .NET Framework is via Windows Update.
	Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.6 RTM (2.6.6526) or later	MDAC can be downloaded from Microsoft Data Access website. Microsoft's Component Checker utility, which can be used to determine the currently installed version of MDAC, can be downloaded from the same site. Note that you may have to install Jet components separately. See Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 271908 for details.
	Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator (MSDTC) Service	The MSDTC service must be running to use the TransAPIPooled COM+ object. The XML Processor and the Progistics Management Console use the TransAPIPooled object, so the service must be running when using those applications. This service is typically installed and set to run automatically when Windows is installed.
	VB Scripting Engine 3.1+ (optional)	Required if using the administration pages. The scripting engine is installed with Internet Explorer or it can downloaded from the Microsoft Windows Script Technologies website.
	Microsoft Internet Information Server 5.1 or later (optional)	Required if using the administration pages. If you are using IIS 6.0 or later, see Progistics and IIS 6.0 for important information.
	Microsoft XML Core Services (optional)	If you are using the Progistics XML processor, it requires the latest version of the Microsoft XML Core Services and Microsoft Script Runtime installed. An easy method of obtaining the most recent dlls is to install the latest version of Internet Explorer. Also, since the XML Processor uses ASP, see Progistics and IIS 6.0 for important information if you are using Windows Server 2003.
	Any of the following: (optional) SQL Server 2000 SQL Server 2005 SQL Server 2008 Oracle 9i Oracle 10g Oracle 11g	Required if using SQL Server or Oracle to replace MSDE or SQL Server 2005 Express (this is not supported for all ConnectShip databases). SQL Server 7 is not supported for distributed installations, only for transaction database storage. See Database Use and Distributed Installation for more information.
	Windows Script Host (optional)	Required if running Visual Basic scripts (such as for debugging). The script host, along with scripting engines, can be downloaded from the Microsoft Windows Script Technologies website.
Internet Connectivity	Operations such as licensing, and some carrier data uploading, require Internet access.

Supported Browsers	Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 SP2 or later (optional)	Required if using the administration pages. Some pages may not function correctly when Active Desktop is used.
